Marriott International has announced a strategic partnership with Espire Hospitality Limited to introduce the premium JW Marriott brand in Kosi Kalan, a rapidly emerging destination in the Mathura region. The upcoming JW Marriott Kosi Kalan Resort & Spa, expected to open in January 2029, marks a significant step in expanding luxury hospitality beyond India’s traditional metro cities.
Spread across 14 acres of lush green landscape, the resort is envisioned as a tranquil retreat that combines modern luxury with the cultural richness of the Braj region. Known for its spiritual and historical significance, Kosi Kalan is strategically located along the Delhi–Agra corridor, making it an important transit and commercial hub.
The development reflects Marriott’s growing confidence in India’s evolving travel landscape, where demand for experience-led, wellness-focused hospitality is rising. According to Kiran Andicot, Senior Vice President, South Asia at Marriott International, the project aligns with the company’s vision of bringing high-end, personalized experiences to emerging markets. He emphasised that the addition of the JW Marriott brand in Kosi Kalan will not only strengthen the company’s luxury portfolio but also contribute to the region’s tourism and economic growth.
From Espire Hospitality’s perspective, the collaboration represents a key milestone in its expansion strategy. Group CEO Gagan Oberoi described the upcoming resort as a blend of contemporary elegance and cultural immersion. He noted that the project has been conceptualised as a sanctuary of mindful luxury, offering guests a unique combination of comfort, nature, and meaningful experiences.
The resort’s location adds to its appeal. It lies within close proximity to Mathura, widely known as the birthplace of Lord Krishna, and Vrindavan, famous for its temples and devotional heritage. This makes it an ideal destination for both leisure travellers and spiritual tourists seeking a refined stay experience.
In terms of connectivity, Kosi Kalan is well-linked through highways, railways, and airports. It is approximately a two-hour drive from Delhi’s international airport and will also benefit from the upcoming Noida International Airport, further boosting accessibility.
The JW Marriott Kosi Kalan Resort & Spa is expected to feature 151 elegantly designed rooms and suites, including villas with private pools. The property will offer multiple dining options, including specialty restaurants, lounge bars, and a rooftop pool bar. Guests can also enjoy a range of wellness and recreational facilities such as multiple swimming pools, a fitness centre, Spa by JW, a Kid’s Club, and sports amenities.
The resort is also poised to become a prominent destination for weddings and corporate events. With 950 square metres of indoor meeting space, expansive outdoor lawns covering 2,395 square metres, and a dedicated bridal suite, it aims to cater to large-scale social and business gatherings.
With this development, Marriott International continues to redefine luxury travel in India, bringing world-class hospitality to culturally rich yet underexplored destinations.
