The Government of India has announced that tickets for key Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi will go on sale from 5 January 2026. The announcement covers tickets for the Republic Day Parade, the full dress rehearsal of the Beating Retreat ceremony, and the main Beating Retreat event.
Republic Day on 26 January 2026 is among India’s most important national celebrations, featuring a grand parade in the capital that honours the country’s Constitution and military heritage. Around it, a series of cultural and ceremonial events are held, including the Beating Retreat festivities later in the week.
Tickets for all three events can be purchased online through the official government portal, or in person at designated counters in New Delhi. Those who buy tickets in person must show a valid photo identity document such as an Aadhaar card, voter ID, driving licence, PAN card or passport at the time of purchase.
For the Republic Day Parade on 26 January, entry passes are priced at ₹100 for adults and ₹20 for certain categories such as students or children, with sales running from 5–14 January or until the available quota is exhausted each day.
The full dress rehearsal of the Beating Retreat ceremony on 28 January will have tickets priced at ₹20, while passes for the main Beating Retreat event on 29 January are also available at ₹100.
Six ticket booths will be set up in different parts of the city to help the public buy passes in person. These include locations near Army House, Shastri Bhavan, Jantar Mantar, Parliament House, Rajiv Chowk Metro Station, and Kashmere Gate Metro Station. Each booth will operate between 10 am and 1 pm, and again from 2 pm to 5 pm, between 5 and 14 January.
Attendees are reminded that a valid photo identity card must be carried along with the ticket to gain entry to the Republic Day Parade, the Beating Retreat rehearsal, and the Beating Retreat ceremony itself.
More information about the Republic Day celebrations for 2026 is available on the official government festival website.
