Tannishtha Chatterjee’s directorial debut, Roam Rome Mein, will close the 2025 edition of the National Indian Film Festival of Australia (NIFFA). The psychological drama, produced by Eros Media World, features Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Isha Talwar, Valentina Corti, and Francesco Apolloni in leading roles, along with Vineet Kumar, Andrea Scarduzio, Ciera Foster, and Priyansh Jora in supporting roles.

Shot in Hindi, English, and Italian, the film explores complex human emotions across cultural boundaries. Chatterjee expressed her joy, stating, “Australia has a very special place in my heart, having filmed UnIndian with Anupam Sharma and Brett Lee there. I am thrilled that my directorial debut Roam Rome Mein will be the closing night film at Australia’s first and only annual national festival of Indian cinema.”

NIFFA is a unique festival in Australia, supported by key Indian and Australian institutions, including Dendy Cinemas, the Indian High Commission, the National Film Development Corporation, and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations. The 2025 edition features over 35 world and Australian premieres of Indian films in 16 languages, including seven red-carpet events across major cities.

The festival, running until 2nd March, aims to celebrate Indian cinema’s diversity beyond Bollywood, with screenings in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Perth, Adelaide, and Canberra.
