In a remarkable event during the Maha Shivaratri festival, the Pazhamthinni Karuppa Eswaran Temple in Vilakkethi village, Tamil Nadu, auctioned a single lemon for ₹13,000. This annual tradition involves bidding on sacred items placed on the deity’s idol. Devotees believe these blessed objects bring prosperity and good health. Local resident Thangaraj secured the lemon, while Chidambaram from Arachalur purchased a silver ring for ₹43,100. Additionally, Ravikumar and Banupriya jointly acquired a silver coin for ₹35,000. After the auction, these items underwent special pujas before the deity.
