Marriott International and The Fern Hotels & Resorts have achieved a major milestone in India by signing 75 hotels and opening 50 properties under the “Series by Marriott” brand in less than six months since its launch in November 2025. The rapid expansion reflects the growing demand for trusted hospitality brands across India’s business and leisure travel markets.
The collaboration between Marriott International and Concept Hospitality Private Limited (CHPL), which operates The Fern Hotels & Resorts, has already added more than 3,556 rooms to Marriott’s India portfolio. Industry experts see this as one of Marriott’s fastest regional growth stories in recent years.
Marriott International launched “Series by Marriott” as a regionally rooted but globally connected hotel collection brand designed for travellers seeking reliable hospitality combined with local experiences. The concept focuses on bringing well-known regional hotel groups under the Marriott Bonvoy ecosystem while preserving the identity and character of individual properties.
Speaking on the achievement, Kiran Andicot, Senior Vice President, South Asia at Marriott International, said India has become the foundation of the brand’s global expansion strategy. He noted that reaching 75 hotel signings and opening 50 operating properties in under six months validates the company’s vision of creating a scalable and conversion-friendly hospitality model supported by Marriott Bonvoy’s distribution network.
The portfolio now spans 43 cities across Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets, highlighting the growing importance of smaller cities and emerging travel destinations in India’s hospitality sector. The expansion includes business hotels, city properties and resort destinations spread across multiple states.
Suhail Kannampilly, Managing Director of Concept Hospitality, said the partnership has resonated strongly with hotel owners and travellers because it combines The Fern’s focus on sustainable and locally inspired hospitality with Marriott’s global systems and loyalty platform.
He added that the company expects further expansion as infrastructure growth, rising domestic travel and increasing demand for quality branded hotels continue to drive the Indian hospitality market.
The “Series by Marriott” brand is designed mainly for what the company describes as the “global domestic” traveller. These travellers seek dependable service standards but also want authentic regional experiences connected to local culture and traditions.
Each property under the collection reflects the character of its destination. The hotels offer comfortable rooms, dependable Wi-Fi connectivity and locally inspired hospitality experiences while maintaining Marriott’s global service standards.
Some of the major operational properties under the collaboration include The Fern Mumbai, Goregaon, Series by Marriott; The Fern Jaipur, Series by Marriott; The Fern Habitat Goa, Candolim, Series by Marriott; Rakabi The Fern Igatpuri, Series by Marriott; and The Fern Residency Bengaluru, Seshadripuram, Series by Marriott.
The brand is also introducing several signature guest experiences across properties. These include grab-and-go breakfast boxes for early travellers, special amenities for solo women travellers, evening turndown treats featuring local delicacies, traditional lamp-lighting ceremonies and wellness-focused bedtime offerings inspired by Indian traditions.
All hotels under The Fern Hotels & Resorts, Series by Marriott participate in Marriott Bonvoy, allowing guests to earn and redeem loyalty points across Marriott’s global network of hotels and resorts.
With India witnessing strong domestic tourism growth and increasing demand for branded mid-market and upscale hotels, the rapid expansion of Series by Marriott highlights the rising importance of regional hospitality partnerships in shaping the future of the country’s hotel industry.
