In a recent escalation of violence, terrorists opened fire on an army vehicle in the Sunderbani area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district. The incident occurred near Phal village, a known infiltration route, where assailants believed to be hiding in a forest fired several rounds at the passing military vehicle. The troops promptly returned fire, and reinforcements were dispatched to neutralise the threat. No casualties have been reported thus far.
This attack comes shortly after the Border Security Force (BSF) neutralised an intruder attempting to cross the International Border in the Pathankot sector. The individual was shot after ignoring multiple warnings from alert BSF personnel. The identity and motive of the intruder are currently under investigation.
These incidents underscore the heightened security challenges in the region, following a series of terrorist activities and infiltration attempts in recent months. Security forces remain vigilant, conducting extensive search operations to prevent further incursions.
