Tata.ev’s Curvv.ev has set a new record by completing the fastest electric vehicle journey from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. Covering f3,823 km in just 76 hours and 35 minutes, the SUV coupe surpassed the previous record set by the Nexon EV MAX by over 19 hours. Along the way, Curvv.ev achieved 20 national records, highlighting the progress in India’s electric vehicle infrastructure.
The journey was completed with only 16 charging stops, significantly reducing the total charging time from 28 hours to 17 hours. This achievement reflects improvements in battery efficiency and the expansion of India’s EV charging network, particularly along highways where fast-charging stations have increased.
Flagged off from Srinagar at 4:00 AM on 25th February 2025 by Jammu & Kashmir’s Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the Curvv.ev faced diverse terrains and weather conditions before reaching Kanyakumari at 8:35 AM on 28th February 2025. The vehicle was received by Member of Parliament Thiru. Vijay Vasanth at the finish line.

Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., emphasised the significance of this journey. ‘This record-setting drive demonstrates how effortless and efficient long-distance travel in an EV has become. Covering nearly 1,200 km per day, the Curvv.ev, powered by the acti.ev architecture and a 55 kWh battery, ensured a smooth and comfortable experience. India’s charging infrastructure now includes over 18,000 charging points, with high-speed chargers reducing range anxiety and making EV travel as practical as petrol or diesel vehicles.’
He added, “By beating our own record by 19 hours, we have shown the growing maturity of EV technology and infrastructure. This milestone will encourage more consumers to adopt electric mobility, boosting confidence in zero-emission travel.”
India’s EV Infrastructure Growth
- India’s charging network has significantly improved since the last record. In 2023, the Nexon.ev’s optimal route was 4,004 km, while the Curvv.ev covered 3,823 km with fewer deviations to locate charging stations.
- The number of charging stations has grown by 227% since 2023, with 18,000 chargers now operational, including high-powered 60–120 kW units.
- 85% of national highways now feature a fast charger every 50 km, improving long-distance travel convenience.
- The iRA.ev app integrates over 12,000 charging points, offering real-time route planning and charger verification based on reliability and amenities.
- The TATA.ev Unified RFID card streamlines charging by allowing seamless access across different providers without requiring internet connectivity.

The success of Curvv.ev’s record-breaking run underscores Tata.ev’s commitment to advancing India’s electric vehicle ecosystem. With growing infrastructure and cutting-edge technology, EV adoption in the country is set to accelerate further.
