Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh met the Indian diaspora in Rabat, Morocco, on 21 September 2025. The interaction came soon after Operation Sindoor, where the Armed Forces took firm action against attackers in Pahalgam. The Indian community praised the swift and decisive response.
Speaking to the gathering, the Raksha Mantri said the Armed Forces had full freedom to act after the cowardly assault on innocent Indians. He stressed that India’s response was firm but restrained. Quoting the Ramcharitmanas, he explained, “Humne dharm dekh kar nahi, karm dekh kar maara hai,” underlining that India’s actions were measured and non-escalatory.
He also spoke about India’s progress in the past decade under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. India has moved from the 11th largest economy to the 4th and is on track to reach the top three. He noted the country’s digital growth, its rise in the knowledge economy, and the boom in startups — from 18 unicorns a decade ago to 118 today.
Highlighting the defence sector, he said India achieved production worth Rs 1.5 lakh crore and exports worth Rs 23,000 crore to over 100 countries. He described this as a sign of India’s growing self-reliance and global reach.
The Raksha Mantri praised the honesty and hard work of the Indian community abroad, calling them a true reflection of India’s values. He recalled Swami Vivekananda’s words from the Parliament of World’s Religions, saying character is the real identity of an individual. The diaspora, in turn, expressed pride in India’s growing strength, both economic and military, and in its rising global role.
