The Marathi film industry, known for its courage to explore bold and socially relevant themes, is set to add another meaningful story to its repertoire ‘Natmastak’. Marathi cinema has long been admired for mirroring real-life struggles and social truths, and this new film continues that proud tradition. The recently unveiled poster has already sparked curiosity among cinema lovers.
Produced by Ramesh Vamanrao Shinde under the banner of R.S. Golden Group Movie Makers, ‘Natmastak’ marks his debut as a film producer. A successful entrepreneur and dedicated social worker from Pune, Shinde has stepped into filmmaking with the aim of delivering a message that goes beyond entertainment. The film is helmed by Mahesh Ravsaheb Kale, a filmmaker recognised for his thought-provoking short films and award-winning features at both national and international levels.
Director Mahesh Kale earlier received a National Award for his short film ‘Rupaya’ and a Maharashtra State Government Award for his feature film ‘Ghuma’. After the critically acclaimed and intense ‘Tarri’ starring Lalit Prabhakar, Kale now returns with ‘Natmastak’ , a film that promises a compelling and socially charged story.
The film’s poster launch officially announced the project’s arrival. The poster depicts a parched rural landscape, featuring a cracked field and a fire blazing inside a well. A young woman is seen walking toward it, with a cow standing nearby. The image symbolises the harsh realities of drought-hit regions in Maharashtra, capturing both struggle and resilience. The film is expected to release across Maharashtra next year.
Sharing his thoughts, director Mahesh Kale said the poster perfectly encapsulates the soul of the film. ‘The visual is not imagined, it’s a reflection of a painful truth,’ he noted. While details about the plot and cast are yet to be disclosed, Kale confirmed that ‘Natmastak’ aims to convey a powerful social message that inspires awareness and change. He also expressed heartfelt thanks to producer Ramesh Shinde for his unwavering belief in the story.
Deeply inspired by the film’s theme, Ramesh Shinde decided to back ‘Natmastak’ as his first production venture. Beyond business, he is actively engaged in various social causes including women’s empowerment, youth entrepreneurship, cattle welfare, orphan support, and educational initiatives. His understanding of real social challenges has shaped his vision to create cinema that not only entertains but also enlightens.
With ‘Natmastak’, both Kale and Shinde aim to remind audiences that cinema can be a mirror to society a medium that bows before social responsibility and inspires meaningful dialogue.
