Mumbai (Anil Bedag): Pocket FM has brought back India’s most beloved superhero, Shaktimaan, in a brand-new audio format. The 40-episode series titled Shaktimaan Returns marks the grand comeback of Mukesh Khanna, who once again lends his voice to the legendary role. Combining nostalgia with a strong environmental message, the series reimagines India’s first superhero for a new generation of listeners.
This time, Shaktimaan’s greatest challenge is not a typical villain, but humanity’s own greed and destruction of nature. His powerful new adversary, Mahatatva, once a guardian of balance, has turned into a corrupted force seeking to restore the planet’s harmony by any means necessary. To save the world, Shaktimaan must embark on a journey to find five mystical Manis of Elements, discovering that true power lies in empathy and compassion rather than sheer strength.
Spanning nearly 10 hours of immersive storytelling, Shaktimaan Returns also features familiar and much-loved characters like Gangadhar Shastri, Geeta Vishwas, Mahatma, and TRP Baba.
To mark the launch, Pocket FM released a nostalgic and humorous brand film titled ‘Distressed Villains’, featuring Bollywood’s iconic 90s antagonists Gulshan Grover, Ranjeet, and Surendra Pal reacting to Shaktimaan’s epic return.
Shaktimaan Returns is more than just a nostalgic revival; it’s a celebration of Indian heroism and a timely reminder that true superheroes evolve with their times, continuing to inspire hope and courage across generations.
