Arjun Rampal turns a year older today and the timing couldn’t be more perfect. On the cusp of his birthday Rampal is gearing up to deliver one of the most intense performances of his career in the upcoming film Dhurandhar produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios and directed by Aditya Dhar.
In Dhurandhar Rampal takes on the chilling role of Major Iqbal ominously nicknamed the Angel of Death. From the moment the first look was revealed fans were hooked the signature cigar the imposing beard and that calm yet terrifying stare signal a character built to intimidate. But it’s not just the look the raw energy and simmering cruelty that Rampal brings to the role make Major Iqbal deeply compelling.
The character seems inspired by real life covert operatives men who dwell in shadows shaped by ideology and lifelong conflict. Rampal embraces this dark psychologically complex persona fully delivering a performance that has already sparked intense conversations for its unsettling intensity.
The trailer wastes no time showcasing Rampal’s transformation. His presence dominates from the very first shot a gut wrenching introduction that sets the film’s tone and lets audiences know this is no ordinary role. For an actor once known mainly for charm and leading man appeal Rampal’s ferocious turn at fifty plus is nothing short of remarkable. His bold choice to dive into such gritty unpredictable characters feels almost rebellious and is refreshing for his fans.
As Rampal celebrates his birthday audiences celebrate his continuous reinvention. Dhurandhar promises to be a milestone adding yet another powerful chapter to his evolving filmography.
The film also features an all star cast including Ranveer Singh Sanjay Dutt Akshaye Khanna and R Madhavan. Dhurandhar is written directed and produced by Aditya Dhar with Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar producing.
Mark your calendars Dhurandhar is set to release on December 5th 2025.
