The teaser of the upcoming short film Vishaad has officially been released, offering viewers a gripping first look at a world built on silence, suspicion, and emotional conflict. The one-minute cut does not reveal much on the surface, yet every frame feels designed to make the viewer lean in, question, and anticipate. Rather than spelling out its plot, the teaser invites curiosity with visual tension and a sense of moral unease.
It opens with an inspector surveying his surroundings. His focused, investigative gaze suggests that something is being concealed, perhaps even protected. The environment feels ordinary, but the quietness in the frame hints at extraordinary truths waiting to be uncovered.
One of the most striking creative choices in the teaser is its use of reverse-motion visuals. Memories, actions, and seemingly innocent moments rewind themselves, forcing the audience to wonder whether they are witnessing flashbacks, imagination, or misdirection. A particular shot of a blurry figure handing an object to a child feels both harmless and unsettling an interaction made more ambiguous because it is shown in reverse. This technique introduces a psychological layer, challenging viewers to piece together a truth they do not yet understand.
The tension builds until the inspector knocks on a door. It opens to reveal veteran actor Ashish Vidyarthi, whose calm presence conveys both vulnerability and quiet authority. In just a few seconds, his expression suggests that he is a man holding far more than he is willing to say. The teaser ends before clarity arrives, leaving behind the weight of unspoken thoughts and dramatic possibilities.
Vishaad is backed by Finchbill Motion Pictures Private Limited and produced by Nilaanjan Reeta Datta. The film is co-directed by Navnita Sen and Nilaanjan Reeta Datta, with Sen also penning the screenplay. The music score by Ashu Chakraborty adds emotional language to the visuals, intensifying the film’s introspective pulse.
The cast features Ashish Vidyarthi, Rajeshwar, and Ketaki Narayan, whose performances promise emotional depth. Reflecting on the project, Rajeshwar shared that the script felt intellectually stimulating and that working with the team including National Award-winning talents was an honour.
Set to premiere globally on the Pocket Films YouTube Channel on 16 January 2026, Vishaad positions itself not merely as a film but as an immersive, lingering experience.
