Directed by Suparn S Varma, HAQ is inspired by a landmark Supreme Court judgment and explores themes such as the Uniform Civil Code, Triple Talaq, and gender equality before the law. Alongside Yami Gautam Dhar and Emraan Hashmi, the film features debutant Vartika Singh, along with acclaimed actors Sheeba Chaddha, Danish Hussain, and Aseem Hattangady.
Written by Reshu Nath, the film is produced by Junglee Pictures in association with Insomnia Films and Baweja Studios. With its Netflix release, HAQ has once again placed itself at the centre of public discourse, reinforcing cinema’s role as a catalyst for social reflection and debate.
