After an explosive first season that redefined fitness entertainment in India, Rusk Media has officially announced Season 2 of its reality format “Battleground.” The high-intensity fitness show will return with a bigger scale and more ambitious challenges. It will stream on Amazon MX Player from April 2026.
A Breakout Reality Format
The first season of Battleground emerged as one of the most talked-about reality launches on streaming platforms. Designed as a competitive fitness reality format, the show brought together aspiring athletes and fitness enthusiasts who competed in demanding physical challenges, strategy-driven tasks, and team battles.
Season 1 featured 16 contestants who underwent a 28-day test of endurance, strategy, and resilience. The participants were divided into four teams and trained under well-known fitness and lifestyle mentors. The show was led by cricket legend Shikhar Dhawan, who served as the Super Mentor.
Strong Audience Response
The show quickly gained traction among viewers and became one of the top-binged shows on the platform. Its popularity extended beyond streaming numbers, with Battleground also receiving industry recognition.
At the IWMBuzz Digital Awards 2025, the show won the “Most Popular Non-Fiction Show” award, acknowledging its innovative format and strong digital engagement.
A Major Platform for Brand Partnerships
Season 1 also attracted several marquee brand collaborations, highlighting the programme’s growing influence among India’s fitness-focused youth audience.
Key partners included Honda BigWing, Charged, American Pistachio Growers, BigMuscles Nutrition, RiteBite Max Protein, PLIX, and Sparsh CCTV.
These collaborations demonstrated the show’s potential as a high-impact advertising and engagement platform.
Season 2 Raises the Stakes
Building on the momentum of its debut season, Battleground Season 2 will introduce a more intense competitive format. The new season will feature tougher physical challenges, deeper mentor involvement, and an expanded narrative that aims to make the show an even bigger cultural spectacle.
The central concept remains the same. The show seeks to discover and shape India’s next generation of fitness icons, while celebrating discipline, endurance, and competitive spirit.
Leadership Speaks
Mayank Yadav said:
“Battleground was always envisioned as more than a show. Season 1 proved there is a massive appetite for aspirational, competitive fitness storytelling done at scale. The viewership, engagement, and brand partnerships validated the format in a big way. With Season 2, we are going even bigger in ambition, intensity, and opportunity for contestants, audiences, and brand partners alike.”
Echoing this sentiment, Rahul Arora added:
“Season 1 demonstrated that Battleground is not just compelling content but a powerful brand ecosystem. The response from advertisers and partners was incredibly strong because the show delivers both reach and relevance. As we step into Season 2, we aim to bring more brands into this high-engagement environment and create deeper collaborations that go beyond visibility to real impact.”
With a stronger format, a rapidly growing fan base, and a proven track record, Battleground Season 2 is set to strengthen its position as one of India’s most distinctive fitness reality franchises.
When the show premieres on Amazon MX Player in April 2026, the arena will reopen with higher stakes, tougher challenges, and a new generation of fitness competitors ready to rise.
