Riding high on the success of its debut season, Rusk Media has officially announced Season 2 of School Friends: Class of ’26. The coming-of-age drama, which garnered over 9.36 million views on YouTube, is set to return with a deeper and more emotionally layered storyline. The new season will stream on the Alright YouTube Channel, the company’s premium fiction platform.
Set during the crucial months leading up to board examinations, Season 2 revisits the lives of Avinash, Ananya and Saurav. However, this time, their journey is far more complex. What was once a strong and inseparable friendship now faces the strain of ambition, personal struggles and diverging life choices. As the trio navigates emotional challenges and growing responsibilities, their bond is put to the ultimate test.
The new season promises to explore themes of identity, expectations and the uncertainty that comes with growing up. With higher emotional stakes, the narrative delves into the internal conflicts each character faces, building towards moments that could redefine their relationships and futures.
Speaking about the announcement, Mayank Yadav, Co-Founder and CEO of Rusk Media, said, “With School Friends: Class of ‘26, the idea has always been to tell stories that feel personal and familiar without diluting their complexity. The response to Season 1 showed us how deeply these characters resonated with viewers. With Season 2, we are stepping into a more layered space—where relationships evolve, choices have consequences, and growing up isn’t as romantic as it seems. We are excited to bring this next chapter to audiences on Alright.”
Lead actor Aaditya Gupta, who plays Avinash Singh, shared his excitement about returning to the series. He said the overwhelming response to the first season highlighted how strongly audiences connected with the characters. He added that Avinash’s journey in Season 2 is more emotionally intense, as the character struggles to express his feelings while dealing with personal challenges.
Rishabh Joshi, who portrays Saurav Khare, also reflected on the impact of the show. He noted that while his character appears carefree on the surface, the new season reveals deeper emotional layers and the pressure of living up to expectations.
Meanwhile, Arista Mehta, who plays Ananya Bhatnagar, highlighted how Season 2 challenges her character’s confidence and sense of direction. She pointed out that Ananya faces personal loss and difficult decisions, making her journey more complex and relatable.
Blending friendship, ambition and emotional growth, School Friends: Class of ’26 Season 2 aims to deliver a compelling continuation of a story that has already struck a chord with young audiences. With production set to begin soon, fans can expect a more intense and grounded narrative when the series returns.
