The National Science Centre (NSC) in Delhi is set to reopen its upgraded nuclear science gallery—“Hall of Nuclear Power: Atoms Serving the Nation”—on 5 June 2025 at 12:30 PM. The revamped space promises an engaging, high-tech experience that redefines how India presents nuclear power to the public.
Originally launched in 2016, the gallery has now been reimagined using the latest digital tools. The initiative is backed by the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) to enhance public understanding of atomic energy and its role in India’s clean energy future.
Interactive Science Meets Nuclear Education
Spread across 7,000 square feet, the gallery hosts over 56 interactive exhibits. Visitors can take a 3D walkthrough of a nuclear plant, interact with digital kiosks, and view real reactor components. Simulations help explain complex processes like nuclear fission, waste disposal, and radiation safety in simple terms.
The updated experience also showcases India’s nuclear pioneers, including Dr Homi J. Bhabha, and contextualises the country’s journey toward energy self-reliance and net-zero goals.
