India has stormed into the Champions Trophy final, defeating Australia by four wickets in a thrilling semi-final clash in Dubai. Chasing a target of 265, India reached 267 for 6, thanks to a stellar performance by Virat Kohli, who scored 84 runs.

Australia, batting first, posted a total of 264 runs, with Steve Smith contributing 73 and Alex Carey adding 61. India’s bowlers, particularly Mohammed Shami with figures of 3 for 48, played a crucial role in restricting Australia’s score.

In response, India faced early setbacks but recovered through key partnerships. Kohli’s composed innings, along with contributions from Shreyas Iyer (45) and KL Rahul (42*), guided India to victory with 11 balls to spare.

India now awaits the winner of the New Zealand vs South Africa semi-final to determine their opponent in the final. Both teams are formidable, but India, showcasing exceptional form, will be a tough contender in the championship match.

Back home, Indian fans erupted in celebrations, hoping for their team to bring home the trophy. Meanwhile, Australia, who had been a strong contender, will reflect on their missed opportunities, particularly their inability to capitalise on a strong start.

With the final just days away, all eyes will be on India as they chase yet another ICC trophy.
