India’s defence and security strategy must adapt to emerging threats like cyber warfare, hybrid warfare, space-based challenges, and transnational organised crime, according to Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh. During the launch of a Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) conference, Singh highlighted the importance of collaboration between agencies and leveraging advanced technologies for national security and disaster management.
Held on March 4, 2025, the conference focused on providing Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) with the latest technology to strengthen internal security and disaster response. Singh emphasised that evolving security challenges require integrating internal and external security strategies.
Notably, Singh spoke about the crucial role of DRDO in enhancing India’s defence capabilities, mentioning their work on innovations such as small arms, bulletproof jackets, and surveillance systems. These technologies, he noted, are vital in tackling both conventional and unconventional threats.
He also highlighted the significance of public involvement in disaster management, advocating for educating citizens on how to respond in crisis situations.
