L’Oréal Paris is back at Festival de Cannes for the 28th time. The global beauty brand continues as the official beauty partner for the iconic event running from 13 to 24 May 2025.

This year’s theme is “Lights, Beauty and Action”, a nod to confidence, individuality and self-worth. For Indian cinema, it’s a milestone too. Alia Bhatt is making her Cannes debut as a global ambassador for L’Oréal Paris. She’ll share the spotlight with longtime ambassador Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Alia Bhatt says she’s thrilled to walk the Cannes red carpet. She calls her debut a celebration of uniqueness and confidence. “It’s an honour to represent L’Oréal Paris,” she says, noting how beauty means self-expression and individuality.

Her debut also highlights the rising global presence of Indian cinema and reflects L’Oréal’s push for diversity and inclusivity.

This marks 28 years of L’Oréal Paris at Cannes. Dario Zizzi, General Manager of L’Oréal Paris India, says Cannes is a platform for storytelling and culture. Alia’s debut, alongside Aishwarya, shows the brand’s ongoing focus on empowering women and redefining beauty.

Nykaa ties up with L’Oréal Paris

In India, L’Oréal has teamed up with Nykaa as its official beauty partner. Nykaa brings Cannes-inspired products to Indian customers through its app and over 200 stores. The star item is the viral Plump Ambition Lip Oil, which launched on 1 May. It’s available exclusively on Nykaa during the entire Cannes festival.

Anchit Nayar, CEO of Nykaa Beauty, says this tie-up brings global beauty closer to Indian consumers. Nykaa caters to more than 40 million users.

A global glam squad

L’Oréal Paris isn’t stopping at India. Cannes 2025 will see stars like Eva Longoria, Viola Davis, Jane Fonda, Andie MacDowell, Elle Fanning and others walk the red carpet for the brand. Each of them supports the brand’s push for authentic and inclusive beauty.

Awarding Women in film

For another year, L’Oréal Paris will present the Lights On Women’s Worth Award. This award celebrates promising female filmmakers and helps them grow in the film industry.

New makeup trends incoming

This year, Harold James takes over as L’Oréal Paris’ new Global Makeup Creative Director. Alongside 30 top beauty artists, he’ll showcase new makeup looks and future trends throughout the festival.
