- MCX records turnover of Rs.1831.62 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.9085.78 crores in Options
The first session of trading on the country’s leading commodity derivatives exchange MCX remained closed on account of the public holiday of Mahashivratri, while the second session resumed as usual from 5 pm. In the second session till 5-30 pm, a turnover of Rs. 10917.71 crore was recorded in various commodity futures, options and index futures. Commodity futures saw a turnover of Rs. 1831.62 crore, while a notional turnover of Rs. 9085.78 crore was recorded in commodity options. Bullion index Bulldex March futures was at the level of 20373 points. Total premium turnover in commodity options was Rs. 125.04 crore.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 1047.10 crores. GOLD Apr-25 contract was up by 0.16% to Rs. 85790 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Feb-25 without any changes 70000 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Feb-25 contract was up by 0.67% to Rs. 8739 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Mar-25 contract was up by 0.09% to Rs. 85662 per 10 gram.
SILVER Mar-25 contract was up by 0.34% to Rs. 94169 per kg, while SILVERM Feb-25 contract was up by 0.42% to Rs. 94553 per kg and SILVERMIC Feb-25 contract was up by 0.47% to Rs. 94489 per kg.
Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 351.09 crores with volume of 409 lots and OI of 17034 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 346.46 crores with volume of 1211 lots and OI of 24456 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 398.35 crores. COPPER Feb-25 contract was up by 1.34% to Rs. 870.9 per kg and ZINC Feb-25 contract was up by 0.41% to Rs. 267.1 per kg while ALUMINIUM Feb-25 contract was up by 0.89% to Rs. 266.2 per kg and LEAD Feb-25 contract was down by 0.08% to Rs. 177.05 per kg.
Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 292.02 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 25.47 crores, Lead futures Rs. 2.80 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 55.25 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 412.42 crores. CRUDEOIL Mar-25 contract was down by 0.02% to Rs. 6014 per BBL while NATURALGAS Mar-25 contract was up by 0.85% to Rs. 356.8 per MMBTU.
Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 46.02 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 309.81 crores.

Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 9085.78 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 125.04 crores.
Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6000 was down by 2.16% to Rs. 177.00 with volume of 5116 lots & OI of 6130 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6000 was down by 0.96% to Rs. 165 with volume of 6573 lots & OI of 5874 lots.
Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.360 was up by 10.74% to Rs. 21.65 with volume of 2627 lots & OI of 3064 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.350 was down by 7.71% to Rs. 18.55 with volume of 2449 lots & OI of 3847 lots.
Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.86000 was up by 4.05% to Rs. 282.50 with volume of 900 lots & OI of 1028 lots, while Gold Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.85000 was down by 36.68% to Rs. 126 with volume of 642 lots & OI of 1413 lots.
Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was up by 7.27% to Rs. 3770.00 with volume of 22 lots & OI of 360 lots, while Silver Put Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was down by 5.46% to Rs. 2778.5 with volume of 23 lots & OI of 290 lots.
