Nestlé Purina PetCare has expanded its presence in India’s growing pet food market with the launch of two new products for cats, Felix Gravy Lover and Pro Plan Cat. Announced on 10 March 2026 at Nestlé House, the launch reflects the company’s strategy to strengthen its footprint in the country’s rapidly expanding cat food segment.
In recent years, India’s pet care industry has seen significant growth, particularly in the cat food category. Rising pet adoption, changing lifestyles and increasing awareness about specialised pet nutrition have encouraged pet parents to look for high quality food options for their animals. Nestlé Purina’s latest launches aim to address this evolving demand while offering both taste and nutritional value.
Felix Gravy Lover is designed to provide cats with a tasty wet food option while also supporting hydration and nutrition. According to the company, the product delivers one of the highest crude protein levels in the category. The range is available in four variants: Chicken, Salmon, Tuna and Mackerel. Each pouch is priced at ₹55 and will be available across leading pet stores and major e-commerce platforms across India.
The Felix brand is known globally for its focus on taste driven recipes and playful personality. By introducing Felix Gravy Lover in India, Nestlé Purina aims to offer cat owners more variety and a flavourful feeding experience for their pets.
Alongside this launch, the company has also introduced Pro Plan Cat, a premium product line built around science led nutrition. The range includes both Kitten and Adult variants designed to meet the nutritional needs of cats at different life stages. It also features specialised formulations such as Urinary Care, Hairball Control, Indoor and Sterilcast, each developed to address specific health and lifestyle requirements of cats.
With Pro Plan Cat, Nestlé Purina is entering the advanced nutrition segment of the Indian cat food market. This segment focuses on scientifically developed diets that support particular health conditions and behavioural needs.
Commenting on the launch, Pallavi Anand, Head of Purina India, said that the cat food category in India is growing rapidly as more people adopt cats and seek specialised nutrition along with variety and taste. She noted that the introduction of Felix Gravy Lover and Pro Plan Cat combines flavour with scientific expertise, allowing the company to respond to the changing needs of pet parents.
The launch will be supported by a strong marketing push, including a digital campaign led by influencers to build awareness and encourage product trial. In addition, the brand plans to ensure strong in store visibility to create a prominent presence on retail shelves.
Through these launches, Nestlé Purina is aiming to strengthen its position in India’s expanding pet nutrition market while catering to the rising expectations of modern pet owners.
