Tired of calculating your total bank balance manually? Paytm now does it for you instantly.
In a move aimed at simplifying digital banking, Paytm has introduced a new feature that gives users an instant view of their total bank balance across all UPI-linked accounts within the app. The feature, announced on 24 June 2025, removes the hassle of checking multiple balances and doing mental maths to understand your financial position.
Previously, users had to check each account’s balance separately and add them manually. Now, Paytm offers a unified view. Once users verify each account using their UPI PIN, the app fetches and sums the balances, displaying both individual and total bank balances in real-time at the top of the screen.
This upgrade comes as part of Paytm’s broader push to make financial management more intuitive. It’s especially useful for users who maintain different accounts for savings, expenses, or salaries and often lose sight of how much money they really have across the board.
A Paytm spokesperson said, “We believe in simplifying financial management through continuous innovation. With Total Balance View, users can track their finances better, plan expenses smarter, and make quicker decisions.”
How It Works:
- Open the Paytm app and go to “Balance & History.”
- Link your UPI-enabled bank accounts if not already done.
- Verify each account with your UPI PIN to check balances.
- The app displays both individual and total balances on the same screen.
This real-time total balance feature is part of a series of updates rolled out by the payments platform. Other notable tools include:
- Option to hide or unhide payments for added privacy.
- ‘Receive Money’ home screen widget for faster transactions.
- Custom UPI IDs to avoid sharing mobile numbers.
- UPI statements in Excel or PDF formats.
Paytm has also expanded its UPI capabilities globally. Users can now make UPI payments in countries like the UAE, Singapore, France, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and more—making it easier for Indian travellers to manage money abroad.
