Pune is set to become the centre of India’s manufacturing industry as the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) prepares to host the Pune Machine Tool Expo (PMTX) 2026 alongside the Factory Equipment Expo (FACTEQ) 2026. Scheduled to take place from September 7 to 10 at the Pune International Exhibition and Convention Centre (PIECC) in Moshi, the event will bring together leading manufacturers, technology providers and industry professionals from across the country.

The four-day exhibition aims to highlight the latest advancements shaping the future of manufacturing, with a strong focus on automation, robotics, digital manufacturing and smart factory technologies. Organisers believe the event will provide businesses with an opportunity to explore innovative solutions that can improve productivity, efficiency and competitiveness.

More than 175 exhibitors are expected to participate in the twin expos, showcasing a wide range of products and technologies. PMTX 2026 will feature advanced machine tools, metal cutting and metal forming technologies, tooling systems, automation solutions, robotics, metrology equipment and digital manufacturing innovations.

Running alongside PMTX, FACTEQ 2026 will focus on factory infrastructure and operational technologies. Exhibitors will showcase material handling equipment, industrial infrastructure solutions, energy-efficient systems, factory equipment and smart manufacturing technologies designed to help industries modernise their operations.

According to IMTMA, the manufacturing sector is undergoing rapid transformation as businesses increasingly adopt Industry 4.0 technologies to improve production processes. Technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, automation, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and digital monitoring systems are becoming essential for manufacturers looking to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving global market.

Jibak Dasgupta, Director General and CEO of IMTMA, said manufacturers today are looking beyond standalone machines and are seeking complete technology solutions that improve overall factory performance.

“Today, manufacturers are looking not just for machines, but for end-to-end technology solutions. Live demonstrations and direct interaction with technology providers will help them make better investment decisions,” he said.

One of the key attractions of the event will be live demonstrations of advanced manufacturing technologies, allowing visitors to experience new machinery and automation systems in action. Industry experts believe this hands-on approach will help businesses better understand how these technologies can be integrated into their own manufacturing facilities.

The expo is expected to attract thousands of business visitors representing sectors such as automotive, aerospace, engineering, capital goods and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Decision-makers, factory owners, production managers and procurement professionals are expected to attend in search of new suppliers, technology partners and business opportunities.

Apart from product showcases, the event will also act as a networking platform where manufacturers, technology companies and industrial buyers can build partnerships and explore future collaborations. With India’s manufacturing sector continuing to expand under initiatives promoting industrial growth and advanced manufacturing, events such as PMTX and FACTEQ are expected to play a significant role in accelerating technology adoption.

By bringing together cutting-edge innovations under one roof, the Pune expos aim to strengthen India’s manufacturing ecosystem and help industries transition towards smarter, more efficient and technology-driven production systems.
