Zupee, India’s prominent skill-based gaming platform, has partnered with the popular television quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) to launch the Ghar Baithe Jeeto Jackpot contest. The initiative aims to offer viewers the opportunity to test their knowledge and win significant cash prizes from the comfort of their homes.

The contest, which began on January 24, 2025, offers five winners ₹1 lakh each every week. Participants need to tune into Kaun Banega Crorepati on Sony Entertainment Television, where they will be presented with questions during the show. Answers can then be submitted through the Zupee app until Monday midnight. Winners will be announced in the next KBC episode.

Akanksha Dhamija, Chief Operating Officer of Zupee, explained that the contest aligns with the company’s goal of making skill-based gaming accessible to all. “By launching the Ghar Baithe Jeeto Jackpot, we aim to give people across India an opportunity to showcase their skills and knowledge, even if they never made it to the KBC hot seat,” Dhamija said.

The collaboration between Zupee and KBC underscores the growing interest in skill-based gaming and knowledge-driven entertainment in India. As more digital platforms emerge in the gaming space, these kinds of partnerships highlight the shift towards integrating television content with interactive online engagement.

Sandeep Mehrotra, Head of Ad Sales at Sony Entertainment Television, also highlighted the synergy between the two brands. “KBC has long celebrated knowledge and learning. This partnership with Zupee enhances the experience for viewers by enabling them to engage directly with the show and win prizes based on their intellect,” Mehrotra stated.

The contest marks a new phase in interactive entertainment. While Kaun Banega Crorepati has long been a cultural touchstone for quizzing enthusiasts, the Ghar Baithe Jeeto Jackpot contest broadens its reach by engaging home viewers in a more participatory manner. The contest is part of a broader trend in Indian television, where shows are increasingly incorporating digital platforms to increase viewer participation and engagement.

While the partnership may be seen as a marketing move to integrate traditional media with emerging tech, it also offers an insight into how the Indian entertainment industry is evolving to meet the growing demand for interactive and skill-based content.
