Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) and Deakin University, Australia, have announced a strategic collaboration to enhance healthcare through technology. The two institutions hosted a two-day International Symposium on Healthcare Technology, focusing on advancements in medical technology and healthcare outcomes.
The event brought together academic and clinical experts to discuss transformative ideas and explore potential collaborations. The symposium aimed at shaping the future of healthcare through cutting-edge research and innovative technology.
Professor K. Baskaran, Associate Dean at Deakin University, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership. He highlighted the shared vision between MAHE and Deakin to leverage technology and research in tackling global healthcare challenges. “This collaboration with MAHE is a significant step towards addressing pressing healthcare needs globally,” he said. “Together, we will drive impactful change.”
Dr. Satish Rao from MAHE echoed these sentiments, stressing the partnership’s potential to revolutionise healthcare technology. “This collaboration will set a benchmark in the application of technology in healthcare,” he remarked.
The symposium featured stimulating discussions on digital health and medical technologies. During the event, participants learned about MAHE’s advanced research infrastructure and Deakin’s expertise in healthcare solutions. Clinical and lab tours at Kasturba Medical College (KMC) allowed participants to witness innovation in action.
Dr. Narayana Sabhahit, Pro Vice Chancellor at MAHE, also spoke about the power of collaboration. “This partnership demonstrates the impact of interdisciplinary research in tackling global healthcare issues,” he said.
Priyanka Singh, Executive Director (South Asia) at Deakin University, emphasised the wider benefits of the partnership. “This collaboration is not only about advancing research but also about creating meaningful healthcare solutions for both countries and beyond,” she said.
