The Ministry of Coal will hold a roadshow in Mumbai on 28 February to highlight investment opportunities in the coal sector and upcoming commercial coal mine auctions. The event at The Taj Mahal Palace will bring together key stakeholders, industry leaders, and investors to discuss policy reforms, financial incentives, and ease of doing business in coal mining.
Since the launch of commercial coal auctions in 2020, 113 mines have been allocated with a combined production capacity of 257.60 MTPA. The Mumbai roadshow follows a successful event in Kolkata and precedes another in Ahmedabad. Officials from the Ministry of Coal, Coal India Limited, and other PSUs will provide updates on sector developments and regulatory frameworks.
Discussions will also focus on technological advancements, sustainable mining practices, and India’s push for energy self-reliance. The event aims to attract private investment and foster industry collaboration to strengthen the coal sector.
