Tension gripped Nagpur as violent clashes broke out over the Aurangzeb tomb controversy, leading to injuries and multiple detentions. The unrest erupted in the Mahal and Hansapuri areas, where two groups engaged in stone-pelting and vandalism. Authorities imposed Section 144 to curb further escalation, and a heavy police force has been deployed to maintain order.

According to officials, at least 47 people have been detained, while 14 police personnel sustained injuries in the clashes. Eyewitnesses reported scenes of chaos, with shops damaged and vehicles set ablaze. Local residents expressed fear as the violence spread through the night, forcing many to stay indoors.
The state government has taken a strong stance on the issue, with senior officials blaming recent events, including the movie Chhava, for fuelling public anger over historical grievances. Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister condemned the violence, urging citizens to maintain peace and harmony. Meanwhile, political leaders have weighed in on the matter, with some calling for a thorough investigation into the root cause of the unrest.

Security has been tightened across sensitive areas, and authorities are monitoring the situation closely. The police have assured strict action against those involved in inciting violence. As the city recovers from the turmoil, the focus remains on restoring normalcy and preventing further clashes.
