In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Maharashtra government has transferred several senior IAS officers, bringing new leadership to key administrative positions. Among the major changes, Aanchal Goyal has been appointed as the new Collector of Mumbai City, taking over from Rajeev Nivatkar.
Aanchal Goyal, a 2017 batch IAS officer, previously served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Zilla Parishad in Nagpur. With a strong background in administration, she is now set to handle crucial responsibilities in Mumbai, including urban governance, land management, and disaster preparedness. Her appointment is expected to bring a fresh perspective to the city’s administrative framework.
Along with her appointment, several other IAS officers have been reassigned across Maharashtra. Nimit Kumar has been transferred to Nagpur as the CEO of Zilla Parishad, while Shrikrushna Panchal has been appointed as the new Collector of Akola district. The reshuffle aims to enhance governance efficiency and streamline operations in various districts.
Mumbai, as Maharashtra’s financial and cultural hub, presents unique governance challenges. From handling infrastructure development to managing civic services and disaster response, the role of the City Collector is crucial. Goyal’s leadership will be closely observed as she steps into this demanding position.
With this reshuffle, the Maharashtra government aims to reinforce administrative strength across key regions. As the new Mumbai City Collector, Aanchal Goyal’s tenure will be critical in addressing pressing urban issues and ensuring effective public service delivery.
