Microsoft has introduced a significant update to Windows 11, making voice typing even more personal by allowing users to disable the profanity filter. This new feature enables users to type swear words freely without them being censored with asterisks.
As part of the latest Windows 11 Insider Preview Build, the new option gives users the ability to toggle off the profanity filter in the voice typing settings. This update follows feedback from customers who requested a more natural and accurate voice typing experience. Previously, any swear words spoken while typing would automatically be replaced with asterisks, but now users can have them transcribed exactly as they are spoken.
Currently, this feature is available to users enrolled in the Dev and Beta channels. It’s part of Microsoft’s ongoing effort to refine the voice typing feature and make it feel more real and conversational.
But that’s not all Microsoft has rolled out. Another exciting feature being tested is the ‘Click to Do’ option for Surface Pen users. With this, the Surface Pen can be customised to trigger quick actions, like summarising a block of text or removing an object from an image. This feature is designed to make stylus usage even more powerful, offering users more control and convenience.
In addition, Microsoft has officially launched the “Recall” feature for Copilot+ PCs. Recall takes continuous screenshots of your activity, storing them in a searchable database. This allows you to easily revisit websites, documents, or anything else you were working on, providing a more intuitive way to track and access past work. However, it’s currently only available on Copilot+ PCs, a specific range of Windows 11 systems released within the last year.
These updates showcase Microsoft’s commitment to making Windows 11 smarter and more adaptable, improving the overall user experience.
