India is set to host one of the world’s most influential economic gatherings as the Bloomberg New Economy Forum 2026 will take place in New Delhi from October 13 to 15 next year. The event will mark the first time the prestigious global summit is being organised in India, reflecting the country’s growing importance in the changing global economic landscape.
More than 500 influential leaders from governments, businesses, technology firms and financial institutions are expected to attend the forum. The summit will bring together former heads of state, central bank governors, Fortune 100 CEOs, sovereign wealth investors and global technology pioneers to discuss the future of economic growth and international cooperation.
The 2026 edition of the forum will be organised under the theme, “A World in Play: Defining the New Levers of Power.” The discussions are expected to focus on rapidly changing geopolitical conditions and how countries are reshaping global influence through technology, energy, trade and investment.
Several important topics are expected to dominate conversations during the three day event. These include artificial intelligence, critical minerals, clean energy transition, global capital flows, supply chain restructuring and emerging technologies that are reshaping industries across the world. Experts believe the forum could play a major role in influencing future international economic partnerships and policy decisions.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the event as a significant moment for India’s global standing. He said India is currently at a decisive stage in its development journey and is increasingly being viewed not just as an investment destination but also as a trusted global partner helping shape the future world order.
According to the Prime Minister, hosting the Bloomberg New Economy Forum in India highlights the country’s expanding influence in global business, innovation and economic transformation. Over the past decade, India has emerged as one of the fastest growing major economies, attracting international investors and multinational companies across sectors such as technology, manufacturing, renewable energy and digital services.
Michael R. Bloomberg, founder of Bloomberg LP and Bloomberg Philanthropies, also emphasised India’s growing strategic importance in the world economy. He stated that India’s leadership in innovation, investment and supply chain development makes New Delhi an ideal venue for meaningful global dialogue and collaboration.
The forum also coincides with Bloomberg completing 30 years of operations in India. Over the years, the company has expanded its presence in financial data, media and business information services within the Indian market.
Experts believe the summit could further strengthen India’s position as a major centre for global economic discussions. At a time when geopolitical tensions, trade realignments and technological disruptions are reshaping international relations, India is increasingly being seen as a stable and influential player connecting both developed and emerging economies.
The choice of New Delhi as the host city also reflects India’s ambitions to position itself at the centre of major global conversations on growth, governance and innovation. Large scale international events such as the G20 Summit and now the Bloomberg New Economy Forum are helping project India’s image as a country playing a larger role in shaping future global priorities.
As the world economy undergoes major transformation, the Bloomberg New Economy Forum 2026 is expected to become a significant platform where leaders discuss the next phase of global power, partnerships and economic opportunities.
