Chandola Talav Turns Into Demolition Zone
In a high-impact early morning operation on Monday, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and city police bulldozed a large illegal settlement near Chandola Talav. This area had reportedly become a base for Bangladeshi intruders living without valid documentation. Multiple illegal constructions were razed in the joint action.
2,000 Cops. 50–80 JCBs. No Mercy.
The scale of the crackdown was massive. Over 2,000 police personnel were stationed at the site. Between 50 and 80 JCB machines were used to demolish illegal structures. Authorities ensured the entire operation was tightly coordinated to avoid unrest. The effort sent out a strong message against unlawful encroachments.
180+ Bangladeshis Identified
Police Commissioner Gyanendra Singh confirmed that more than 180 illegal Bangladeshi nationals were identified during a recent verification drive. Several had no valid documents and were living in makeshift homes. This illegal settlement had become a growing concern for local authorities.
Notices Served Before Bulldozers Moved In
Prior to the demolition, AMC officials conducted a detailed survey. Based on their findings, eviction notices were issued. Despite warnings, many stayed put. Officials claimed that this cluster of illegal occupants was growing rapidly and had become a law-and-order risk.
Operation Carried Out Without Resistance
Security was tight from the start. Quick Response Teams were deployed across the site. Thankfully, the demolition remained peaceful. No injuries, violence, or resistance were reported. Police and civic staff worked in close coordination to clear the zone efficiently and safely.
More Crackdowns on the Way
Sources suggest this is just the beginning. The police are now verifying identities in other settlements suspected of housing undocumented foreign nationals. Authorities confirmed that legal action will follow against those found staying illegally.
