A mysterious shrine, a police investigation, suspicious incidents and a world filled with action. The upcoming Marathi film ‘Devghar On Rent’ brings together mystery, spirituality, suspense and action in an unusual combination. The film’s trailer was recently launched at an event in Mumbai, offering audiences a glimpse into a story where the meaning behind the words ‘Devghar’ and ‘Rent’ itself becomes a source of curiosity.
Directed by Swaroop Sawant, the film is presented by Anandi Pictures Amravati and produced by Radhakrushna Production. Sachin Rode Patil and Poonam Chaudhary Patil have produced the film, while Poonam Chaudhary Patil has developed the concept. The story, screenplay and dialogues have been written by Sanjay Navgire.
A Mystery Begins
Right from its opening moments, the trailer creates an atmosphere of uncertainty. Meaningful dialogues, suspicious happenings and conflicts between characters gradually build tension. A police investigation forms an important part of the narrative, while glimpses of the criminal underworld add another layer to the unfolding mystery.
At the centre of this world is a mysterious ‘Devghar’, or shrine. The trailer gives only glimpses of what surrounds it, leaving questions about the incidents taking place around the shrine. Spiritual references and unexplained events add an intriguing dimension to the otherwise action-driven narrative.
Action Takes Centre Stage
Alongside the mystery, action appears to be one of the film’s major attractions. The trailer features chase sequences, hand-to-hand combat and intense confrontations between characters.
The makers have incorporated a South Indian style of action into the film, giving its sequences a larger-than-life treatment. This combination of suspense, spirituality and high-energy action is expected to give ‘Devghar On Rent’ a distinct flavour within Marathi cinema.
A Strong Ensemble
The film brings together a diverse cast featuring Nikhil Chavan, Ankit Mohan, Bhau Kadam, Shashank Shende, Ashwini Chavare, Vaibhav Chavan, Suresh Vishwakarma, Anil Nagarkar, Siddheshwar Zadbuke and Gautami Patil in pivotal roles.
South Indian actors Garuda Ram, known for his work in ‘KGF’, and Shravan Raghavendra will also appear in significant roles. Their presence adds to the film’s action-oriented appeal.
Music and Technical Team
Music composers S. Sagar and Kabir Shakya have created the film’s songs, while Kishor Dalvi has handled choreography. Chaitanya Salunke is the director of photography and Rohit Nagbhide has composed the background score.
The action has been choreographed by Rakesh Patil and Kartik Dangari, while Dilip Kandhare has handled art direction. Apeksha Gandhi Soni has designed the costumes and Sujit Survase has handled makeup.
Anuneha Ghodke serves as Executive Producer and Yash Sanas as Production Manager. Akshay Londe has handled sync sound, while Vijay Mhaske is the Production Head.
Releasing on September 25
The trailer has set up several questions around the mysterious Devghar and the people connected to it. Whether the spiritual elements, police investigation and action are part of one larger mystery will unfold when the film reaches theatres.
‘Devghar On Rent’ is scheduled to release on September 25, 2026, across Maharashtra, as well as in Belgaum, Hyderabad, Indore and Baroda.
