In a day of high-octane cricket, Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) emerged victorious in their respective IPL 2025 matches held on 8 April. Both games were packed with exceptional performances and tight finishes.

PBKS vs CSK: Arya’s blazing century steals the show

At the PCA New International Cricket Stadium, PBKS posted a commanding 219/6 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The hero of the innings was Priyansh Arya, who smashed a scintillating 103 off just 42 balls. His knock, featuring seven boundaries and nine sixes, marked one of the fastest centuries in IPL history and the highest team total at this venue.

In response, CSK began well with Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra providing a solid start. However, despite their best efforts, the team could only reach 201/5 in their 20 overs. PBKS clinched the match by 18 runs, with Arya deservedly named Player of the Match.

KKR vs LSG: Pooran powers LSG to a narrow victory

In another high-scoring clash, LSG edged out Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by just four runs. Batting first, LSG posted a mammoth 238/3. Nicholas Pooran led the charge with an explosive 87* off 36 deliveries, anchoring the innings with big hits and quick runs.

KKR responded with a brave chase but narrowly missed the target, finishing at 234/6. Despite their late efforts, Pooran’s performance proved the difference, securing an important win for LSG.
