South India-based jewellery retailer Lalita Jewellery Mart Limited is set to enter the capital markets with its much-awaited Initial Public Offering (IPO), marking a significant milestone in the company’s growth journey. The IPO will open for subscription on August 17, 2026, and close on August 19, 2026, with the company aiming to raise approximately ₹1,700 crore through the public issue.
The company has fixed the price band at ₹190 to ₹201 per equity share, each having a face value of ₹5. Investors will be able to apply for a minimum of 74 equity shares, with bids thereafter accepted in multiples of 74 shares.
The IPO consists of a fresh issue worth ₹1,200 crore along with an Offer for Sale (OFS) of up to ₹500 crore by promoter M. Kiran Kumar Jain. With this public offering, Lalita Jewellery is looking to strengthen its position in India’s organised jewellery retail sector while opening its doors to public investors.
Operating under the ‘Lalita’ brand, the company has built a strong presence across South India by offering a wide range of gold, silver and diamond jewellery designed to suit regional preferences. Over the years, the brand has expanded steadily and, as of March 31, 2026, operated 61 retail stores across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Puducherry. Spread across 51 cities, these outlets cover a total retail area of approximately 6.5 lakh square feet, making Lalita one of the prominent organised jewellery chains in the region.
One of the company’s biggest strengths is its in-house manufacturing capability, which allows it to maintain quality while offering jewellery at competitive prices. The availability of BIS-hallmarked jewellery across all stores has further strengthened consumer confidence and helped establish the brand’s credibility in an increasingly competitive market.
According to a CRISIL report, Lalita Jewellery has consistently reported strong operating revenue per store among leading organised jewellery retailers in India. The company recorded ₹410.23 crore per store in FY2026, a significant increase from ₹281.62 crore in FY2025. The figure also reflects sustained growth when compared to ₹316.76 crore in FY2024, highlighting the company’s expanding retail performance over the years.
The company attributes much of its growth to a standardised retail model that focuses on store location, outlet size and customer experience. This approach has enabled Lalita Jewellery to strengthen its presence in existing markets while also making expansion into new locations more efficient.
The upcoming IPO comes at a time when India’s organised jewellery sector continues to witness growing consumer demand, supported by rising disposable incomes, increasing preference for branded jewellery and greater emphasis on quality certification. With a well-established presence in South India and plans for future expansion, Lalita Jewellery’s stock market debut is expected to be closely watched by both retail and institutional investors.
The public issue marks an important chapter for the jewellery retailer, which has grown from a regional brand into a recognised organised player with 61 stores. As subscription opens on August 17, market participants will be keenly watching how investors respond to one of the notable IPOs in the jewellery sector this year.
