GOLD Apr-25 futures contract gains by 0.07% and SILVER May-25 futures contract gains by 0.56%, while CRUDEOIL Mar-25 futures contract gains by 0.65%

India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.93539.89 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 10 March 2025 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 14155.37 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 79384.52 crores (notional).

Commodity Future Contracts:

Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 9439.68 crores. GOLD Apr-25 contract was up by 0.07% to Rs. 85940 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Mar-25 contract was down by 0.01% to Rs. 69790 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Mar-25 contract was up by 0.02% to Rs. 8750 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Apr-25 contract was up by 0.03% to Rs. 85924 per 10 gram.

SILVER May-25 contract was up by 0.56% to Rs. 97748 per kg, while SILVERM Apr-25 contract was up by 0.57% to Rs. 97729 per kg and SILVERMIC Apr-25 contract was up by 0.55% to Rs. 97739 per kg.

Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 4963.34 crores with volume of 5764 lots and OI of 18980 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1835.80 crores with volume of 6257 lots and OI of 20466 lots.

Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1246.45 crores. COPPER Mar-25 contract was down by 0.36% to Rs. 879.05 per kg and ZINC Mar-25 contract was down by 0.31% to Rs. 272.3 per kg while ALUMINIUM Mar-25 contract was up by 0.38% to Rs. 265.6 per kg and LEAD Mar-25 contract was up by 0.86% to Rs. 182.3 per kg.

Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 843.05 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 95.08 crores, Lead futures Rs. 27.69 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 191.67 crores.

Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 3466.95 crores. CRUDEOIL Mar-25 contract was up by 0.65% to Rs. 5896 per BBL while NATURALGAS Mar-25 contract was up by 9.08% to Rs. 401.3 per MMBTU.

Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 336.05 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 2557.58 crores.

AGRI: MENTHAOIL Mar-25 contract was down by 0.04% to Rs. 930 per kg and COTTONCNDY Mar-25 contract was up by 0.74% to Rs. 52940 per candy.

Options on Commodity Future Contracts:

Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 79384.52 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1409.65 crores.

Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.5900 was up by 12.84% to Rs. 104.60 with volume of 85848 lots & OI of 18590 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.5800 was down by 23.93% to Rs. 67.4 with volume of 74410 lots & OI of 13815 lots.

Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.400 was up by 160.71% to Rs. 21.90 with volume of 29033 lots & OI of 6431 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.400 was down by 40.05% to Rs. 23.95 with volume of 25146 lots & OI of 4232 lots.

Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.87000 was down by 3.92% to Rs. 587.50 with volume of 2418 lots & OI of 840 lots, while Gold Put Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.85000 was down by 6.56% to Rs. 648 with volume of 2222 lots & OI of 772 lots.

Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.98000 was up by 9.89% to Rs. 3016.00 with volume of 511 lots & OI of 294 lots, while Silver Put Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.97000 was down by 9.48% to Rs. 2725 with volume of 335 lots & OI of 247 lots.
