Fishermen Warned, Oil Rigs Off-Limits
Mumbai’s coastal waters are now under shoot-to-kill orders. The Navy and Fisheries Department have restricted access around oil rigs and other offshore defense zones. Fishermen have been strictly told to stay away or face deadly force.
Navy officials highlighted serious concerns. Fishing boats may be hijacked and used for attacks, like in 26/11. To avoid this, sensitive maritime zones have been marked. Any violation could trigger lethal action.
High Alert Mode On
The Indian Navy recently met with Mumbai’s fishing community. The message was clear: national security first. All vessels must avoid sensitive zones identified by the Navy. Fishermen are also told not to shelter near oil rigs during bad weather.
Surveillance is getting sharper. A new mobile app will log all fishing boats digitally. Each vessel will be mapped, tracked, and monitored for suspicious activity. Authorities believe this will prevent misuse.
Pune Tightens Security
Not just the coast — Pune is also on alert. Security has been ramped up at the National Defence Academy, Pune airport, the airbase, and the famous Dagdusheth Ganpati temple. Police presence has doubled. Surveillance is active round-the-clock.
Delhi Air Wary, Not Grounded
Delhi Airport remains operational, though some flights are affected. Airspace adjustments and higher security are the reasons. BCAS has upgraded security protocols across airports due to Indo-Pak tensions. DIAL confirmed these updates via social media.
