The digital entertainment space continues to evolve rapidly, with audiences increasingly shifting towards shorter, mobile first viewing experiences. Among the platforms attracting attention in this changing landscape is Rocket Reels, India’s first original stories vertical OTT platform, which recently celebrated a significant milestone by completing nine months of its journey in the entertainment industry.

To mark the occasion, the platform hosted a grand success celebration that brought together creators, actors, filmmakers, and personalities from across the entertainment world. The event reflected the platform’s growth over a relatively short period and highlighted its ambition to reshape the way audiences consume digital content.

The initiative has been led by Kranti Shanbhag, who founded the platform with the aim of creating a different storytelling experience tailored for today’s digital audience. Since its launch, Rocket Reels has focused on offering stories designed specifically for vertical viewing on smartphones, aligning with changing viewing habits and shorter attention spans.

Over the past nine months, the platform has introduced content across a wide variety of genres. From thrillers and romance to crime, mystery, science fiction, horror, and comedy, Rocket Reels has attempted to provide a diverse content library aimed at different audience preferences. The stories are presented in shorter episodes intended to create quick yet engaging viewing experiences.

One of the platform’s notable strengths has been its multilingual approach. Rocket Reels currently offers content in six Indian languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, and Gujarati, allowing it to reach audiences from different regions across the country.

The platform’s expansion has also extended beyond India. It is now available in markets including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Nepal, and South Africa. This wider international presence reflects the growing interest in regional and Indian digital content among global audiences.

Speaking about the journey, Kranti Shanbhag expressed gratitude towards the creators, partners, team members, and audiences who supported the platform from its early stages.

Meanwhile, filmmaker Vikram Bhatt shared his views on the changing nature of storytelling. According to him, platforms built around vertical formats challenge creators to rethink how visual narratives are structured, opening new possibilities for storytelling techniques.

Pratyush Bhartiya also highlighted how audience habits are evolving with the rise of mobile first content consumption. He noted that storytelling designed specifically for vertical screens aligns naturally with modern user behaviour and changing digital consumption patterns.

The celebration itself witnessed the presence of several personalities from the entertainment world, including Gauahar Khan, Rakhi Sawant, Eijaz Khan, Poonam Pandey, Rohit Bose Roy, Arya Babbar and many others.

The evening reflected not only celebration and glamour but also the platform’s growing role within India’s expanding digital entertainment ecosystem.
