The UK-India Young Professionals Scheme 2025 is set to offer 3,000 visas to Indian nationals, allowing them to live, work, and study in the United Kingdom for up to two years. The application process will begin with a free online ballot opening at 2:30 PM IST on 18th February and closing at 2:30 PM IST on 20th February.
Who Can Apply?
The scheme is open to Indian citizens aged between 18 and 30 who hold a bachelor’s degree or higher qualification recognised by UK standards. Applicants must also show proof of at least £2,530 in savings (approximately INR 2,70,824)., maintained for 28 consecutive days, to support themselves in the UK.
Applicants must not have dependent children under 18 and cannot have previously held a Youth Mobility Scheme visa.
How to Apply
Interested candidates must enter the ballot by providing their personal details, including their name, date of birth, passport details, phone number, and email address. They must also upload a scanned copy of their passport on the official UK government website during the ballot period.
Successful applicants will be randomly selected and notified via email within two weeks after the ballot closes. Those selected will have 90 days to submit an online visa application, complete biometric verification, and pay the required fees. The visa fee is £298, and the healthcare surcharge is £1,552.
Opportunities and Benefits
The visa allows successful applicants to live, work, and study in the UK for up to 24 months. They can enter and exit the UK freely during this period. If they turn 31 after receiving the visa, they can still stay in the UK for the full two-year duration.
This scheme aims to strengthen cultural and professional ties between the UK and India, offering young professionals valuable international work experience.
