The Union Health Ministry has launched an Intensified Special NCD Screening Campaign to ensure 100% coverage of individuals aged 30 and above for common Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs). Running from 20 February to 31 March 2025, the drive focuses on early detection of diabetes, hypertension, and oral, breast, and cervical cancers.
The campaign, implemented under the National Programme for Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NP-NCD), will be conducted at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs) and other healthcare facilities across the country.

Key highlights include:
- Door-to-door screening: ASHAs, ANMs, and frontline workers will visit homes to maximise coverage.
- Essential medical supplies: States and Union Territories (UTs) will ensure availability of BP monitors, glucometers, and essential medications at healthcare centres.
- Real-time data tracking: Screening, treatment, and follow-ups will be recorded daily on the NP-NCD Portal for transparency and accountability.
- Multi-level coordination: Dedicated nodal officers at facility, block, district, and state levels will oversee smooth execution.
- Daily progress review: States and UTs must update the Ministry by 6 PM daily to facilitate continuous monitoring and technical support.
The initiative is a major step towards strengthening India’s preventive healthcare efforts and ensuring timely intervention for NCDs, which are a growing public health concern in the country.
