Indian youth are rediscovering devotion, but on their own terms. While faith remains central, the way it is experienced is changing. Today’s listeners are seeking bhajans that match the pace of their lives. They want music that energises them, engages them, and fits naturally into daily routines. This shift has opened the door for contemporary interpretations of traditional spiritual compositions.
Singer Abhijeet Ghoshal believes devotion does not have to be slow or solemn to be meaningful. According to him, young listeners respond strongly to rhythm and momentum. When spiritual music carries energy, it becomes something they can feel deeply, rather than simply listen to. This belief has shaped his latest release, Clubmix Hanuman Chalisa.
Ghoshal, an 11-time Sa Re Ga Ma Pa winner from Prayagraj, has taken one of India’s most revered chants and presented it in a modern, fast-paced format. The idea, he says, was not to alter the soul of the Hanuman Chalisa, but to present it in a way that speaks to today’s generation. For him, tradition and innovation are not opposites, but partners.
He explains that young people live in a constant state of movement. Music that reflects this energy helps them stay connected to spiritual practice more consistently. Rather than being reserved for special occasions, such music becomes part of everyday life. Ghoshal believes this regular engagement is what deepens faith over time.
Clubmix Hanuman Chalisa blends classical melodic elements with electronic beats and contemporary production. While club-style mixes are often linked to dance music, Ghoshal views this format as a powerful tool for immersion. The track encourages listeners to move, meditate, and absorb the chant through sound and rhythm, without losing its devotional core.
The project brings together a skilled creative team. Music has been composed by Jeson Malu, while dubbing, mixing, and mastering were handled by Ajay Kumar Singh at Swarit Studio in Mumbai. The lyrics are drawn from Goswami Tulsidas’s Shri Ram Charit Manas. Ghoshal himself has arranged, composed, and sung the track, ensuring a balance between reverence and modern expression.
With this release, Ghoshal hopes to show that spirituality can evolve with time. The Clubmix Hanuman Chalisa aims to make bhakti accessible, engaging, and alive for a new audience, proving that faith can move with the beat without losing its depth.
