Marathi cinema is gearing up for the release of Maharashtra Epstein Files, an upcoming thriller that explores the intersection of politics, crime and the misuse of power. The makers have unveiled the first look of actor Subodh Bhave in a pivotal political role, generating curiosity about his character and the secrets at the heart of the film. The film is scheduled to release across Maharashtra on November 20, 2026.
Presented by Anandi Pictures Amravati and Sachin Rode Patil, the film is produced by Devendra Bhat, Suryakant Bhunde and Prashant Kadampure under the banner of Matoshri Entertainment World. Directed by Swaroop Sawant, the thriller aims to examine social and political realities through a narrative filled with mystery, suspense and confrontations.
The film explores alleged controversies in the political and social spheres, focusing on criminal networks, the influence of powerful individuals and the challenges faced by those seeking justice. Its story brings together investigative agencies determined to expose wrongdoing and influential figures who allegedly attempt to suppress the truth through political connections. The narrative also revolves around a fraudulent godman, adding another layer to the story.
The recently released first look of Subodh Bhave has become a key talking point. Known for his versatility as an actor, Bhave appears in a commanding and serious avatar, portraying an influential political leader. Dressed in a white kurta paired with a black bandhgala jacket, his character projects authority, confidence and determination.
A dialogue from the film further establishes the character’s position against corruption: “Whether it is a minister or an MLA, anyone found guilty will have to face the law. No one will be spared.” The statement suggests a character determined to uphold accountability, regardless of a person’s political standing.
The first-look visuals also offer clues about the film’s investigative backdrop. Crime investigation boards, yellow police barricade tape, journalists raising questions and camera flashes create an atmosphere of tension. Expressions of fear and suspicion among the characters add to the intrigue, leaving audiences curious about the political developments and hidden connections that drive the story.
The film’s story, screenplay and dialogues have been written by Sanjay Navgire, while the concept comes from Sagarkumar S. Jain. Through its characters and interconnected storylines, the project aims to examine the relationship between political influence, criminal activities and the fight to bring those responsible to justice.
Alongside Bhave, the film features Deepali Sayed, Uday Tikekar and Akshay Tanksale in significant roles. Their characters are expected to contribute to the film’s exploration of political rivalries, social dynamics and the criminal underworld.
On the technical front, cinematographer Akash Kakade has handled the film’s visual presentation, capturing its tense atmosphere and dramatic developments. Art director Akshay Ambekar has designed the sets and visual environments to reflect the worlds of politics and crime. Apeksha Gandhi Soni is responsible for costume design, while Neha Ghodke has served as production controller.
Sachin Ghanwat has managed production operations, with Yash Sanas as line producer and Vijay Mhaske as production manager.
With its political backdrop, investigative elements and Subodh Bhave’s striking first look, Maharashtra Epstein Files is preparing to bring a suspense-driven story to Marathi audiences on November 20, 2026.
