Preet Dutta has carved an impressive space for herself in the fashion world through sheer dedication and consistency. Over the years, she has participated in more than two hundred fashion shows, ramp walks, fashion weeks, and modelling events. Alongside runway work, she has built a strong presence in print campaigns, calendars, and magazine shoots. Through her confidence and professionalism, Preet has established a distinct identity not only across India but also on the international stage.
Now, she is ready to step into a new chapter of her career. Preet Dutta is preparing for her big-screen debut as an actress. One of her upcoming Bengali films is nearing completion, with filming almost wrapped up and post-production currently in progress. At the same time, she is actively working towards making her entry into Bollywood.
When it comes to acting, Preet draws inspiration from strong and graceful performers. She deeply admires Sushmita Sen and is influenced by the storytelling styles of filmmakers such as Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Anurag Basu, Imtiaz Ali, Karan Johar, and Aditya Dhar. Working with these directors remains one of her biggest aspirations.
While she is open to a wide range of roles, Preet feels a special connection with powerful characters that carry grey shades. Performances like Priyanka Chopra in Mary Kom and Kangana Ranaut in Fashion have left a lasting impact on her. Given the opportunity, she believes she can bring such layered roles to life with her own emotional depth and individuality. Her real-life personality reflects strength, self-respect, and courage, qualities often associated with impactful female actors.
Preet Dutta comes from a culturally rich background in Kolkata. Her grandfather worked as an editor on films by the legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray. He encouraged her to understand the technical side of cinema and guided her from an early age. As a child, she also participated in dubbing work and performed small roles, experiences that gradually drew her closer to acting.
Initially, her family was hesitant about her choosing acting as a career. After completing her education, she began modelling, though her efforts were not taken seriously at first. The turning point came when she was selected among the top five models and featured in leading newspapers, including The Times of India. This recognition changed perceptions at home and strengthened her resolve. Since then, her journey has moved steadily forward, earning her the title “Queen of Bengal.”
Beyond modelling and acting, Preet has completed a course in interior designing, which she continues to pursue part-time. She has a strong interest in sports, particularly cricket, and enjoys travelling, learning new skills, and staying active.
Reflecting on her journey, Preet says that while her experience in modelling and acting has been fulfilling, her larger goal is to move beyond regional cinema and establish herself in Bollywood. She hopes to do so through films, short films, and web series.
Preet Dutta also shares a message for today’s youth. She believes one should never burden oneself with unnecessary pressure or make life decisions based on others’ opinions. Self-belief, patience, balance, and independence, she says, are the foundations of a meaningful life.
Today, Preet Dutta stands not just as a successful model or an emerging actress, but as a symbol of confidence, perseverance, and independent thought, a woman with the potential to become a powerful presence on the big screen
