Ektaa R. Kapoor is gearing up to bring a new horror-comedy to the big screen with ‘Hero Ki Horrorine’, a film that promises to blend supernatural thrills, romance and comedy into a fresh theatrical entertainer. The film, directed by Sajid Khan, is scheduled to release in cinemas on January 7, 2027.
A Jai Ho Media Ventures production, the film is presented by Balaji Telefilms Ltd. and produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R. Kapoor and Amar Butala. With an ensemble cast and a genre that combines scares with humour, the upcoming film aims to offer audiences an entertaining mix of horror, romance and comedy.
Ektaa R. Kapoor has established a strong presence across multiple genres and has consistently backed stories that have connected with popular audiences. Her association with horror-comedy has also grown in recent years, with the production house exploring the genre by bringing supernatural elements together with humour and entertainment.
Following the success of ‘Bhoot Bangla’ earlier this year, the makers are returning to the horror-comedy space with ‘Hero Ki Horrorine’. The new film is expected to take a different approach to the genre, adding romance and a comic touch to its supernatural storyline.
The project also marks a collaboration between Ektaa R. Kapoor and producer Amar Butala, who has previously been associated with several successful films, including Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Kesari and the critically acclaimed Mission Majnu. Their coming together for ‘Hero Ki Horrorine’ adds further anticipation around the project.
Directed by Sajid Khan, the film features a diverse ensemble cast comprising Yashvrdhn Ahuja, Nitanshi Goel, Sunita Ahuja, Jamie Lever, Chunky Pandey, Brijendra Kala and Simrat Kaur Randhawa. The combination of established performers and young talent is expected to contribute to the film’s comic and entertaining tone.
For Yashvrdhn Ahuja, ‘Hero Ki Horrorine’ marks his debut as a leading actor in Hindi cinema. He will be seen opposite Nitanshi Goel, who takes on the role of the leading lady. Their pairing forms the central romantic element of the film, which is set against a supernatural backdrop.
The makers are positioning ‘Hero Ki Horrorine’ as a theatrical entertainer that brings together the key ingredients of horror, comedy and romance. Rather than relying solely on scares, the film promises to explore the lighter and more humorous side of the supernatural world.
With Sajid Khan directing and Ektaa R. Kapoor and Amar Butala joining forces as producers, the film brings together a combination of experienced names and emerging talent. The ensemble cast further adds to the curiosity surrounding the project.
