The Banke Bihari Temple, one of the most revered and iconic Hindu temples in Vrindavan, has received its license under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA), enabling it to accept foreign donations for the first time. The FCRA license, issued by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, was granted after a thorough vetting process and approval from the judiciary. The temple administration, which transitioned to a court-appointed management committee from its earlier private priestly family management, had applied for the FCRA license considering the significant number of international devotees visiting the temple annually. Reports highlight that the temple regularly receives foreign currency in its donation boxes, underlining its global appeal.
