The makers of the upcoming Marathi film Bandhini have officially unveiled the film’s first poster, offering audiences a glimpse into an emotional story centred on a woman’s journey of self-discovery. Produced under the banner of Satya Films Company, the film is scheduled to release in cinemas on 9 October.
Written by Satish Waghela and directed by Santosh Manjrikar, Bandhini explores themes of love, sacrifice, family values and self-respect through the life of its central character, Devika. The film aims to present a heartfelt story that reflects the emotional challenges many women face while balancing personal dreams with family responsibilities.
The poster launch was held in the presence of the film’s cast and crew, marking the beginning of the promotional campaign ahead of its theatrical release. The event highlighted the team’s commitment to bringing a meaningful and emotionally engaging story to Marathi cinema.
At the heart of Bandhini is Devika, a woman whose life is shaped by the expectations of family and society. As she navigates relationships, responsibilities and personal aspirations, she embarks on an emotional journey to rediscover her own identity. Rather than focusing only on struggle, the film also celebrates resilience, dignity and the strength that comes from self-belief.
The lead roles are played by Ashwini Bagal, Bhushan Shivtare and Yogesh Tanpure, who are expected to deliver powerful performances in this relationship-driven drama. The film also features an ensemble supporting cast, including Prasad Surve, Avinash Kirti, Milind Sangawar, Dheeraj Bidwe, Manoj Chaudhary, Goraksh Lokhande, Aditya Salunkhe, Rohit Bhingare, Pratap Kolte, Sheetal Patil, Sheetal Oswal, Rashmi Vyahare and Aarti Pawar.
Speaking about the film, director Santosh Manjrikar said that Bandhini reflects the lives of many women in today’s world who constantly try to balance their personal ambitions with their responsibilities towards their families.
“Every woman today strives to balance her dreams with her responsibilities towards her family. Bandhini is the story of one such woman, and I believe many women will find a reflection of their own lives in her journey. Our aim is to present a film that not only touches hearts but also inspires audiences to think,” he said.
Producer and writer Satish Waghela believes the film offers more than entertainment. According to him, Bandhini has been created as an emotional experience that encourages viewers to reflect on relationships, family values and the importance of self-respect.
“Bandhini is much more than just an entertaining film. It is an experience that will encourage every family and every woman to see a part of themselves on screen. We are confident that audiences will connect deeply with its subject and presentation,” he said.
Music also plays an important role in the film’s storytelling. The soundtrack has been composed by Rohan Pagare, while Prashant Shantaram Nandgaonkar has handled music coordination. The songs are performed by renowned singers Kavita Krishnamurti, Rahul Deshpande, Vaishali Samant and Devika Panshikar, adding emotional depth to the narrative.
With its focus on relationships, identity and emotional strength, Bandhini seeks to continue Marathi cinema’s tradition of presenting meaningful stories rooted in social values. Combining an emotionally driven narrative, experienced performers and soulful music, the film hopes to leave a lasting impression on audiences when it arrives in theatres on 9 October.
