Mumbai: What started as a focused effort to empower daughters has now evolved into a wider movement for children’s education and equal opportunity. BETI, an initiative founded by Anu Ranjan, has completed 20 years, marking a significant milestone in its journey of social impact.
Over the years, BETI has worked towards supporting the education and empowerment of girls, encouraging families and communities to value and invest in their daughters’ futures. Now, in a progressive step forward, the initiative has expanded its mission to include the education of boys as well. This shift reflects a broader vision that true equality can only be achieved when every child, regardless of gender, has access to opportunities.
To celebrate this landmark year, a special event was organised in Mumbai on 22nd March. The evening brought together fashion, purpose, and social awareness, creating a platform where creativity met a meaningful cause. The event featured showcases by renowned designers Haneet Singh, Tinaa Ranka, Parina International Jaipur, and Rathod Jewellers. The show was choreographed by Shie Lobo, adding a dynamic and impactful touch to the presentation.
More than just a fashion event, the evening carried a deeper message. Every walk on the runway symbolised the dreams and aspirations of children whose lives can change through education. The event aimed to remind audiences that behind the glamour lies a powerful mission to create a better and more inclusive future.
Speaking about the journey, the vision behind BETI has always been rooted in empowerment through education. By extending its support to boys, the initiative reinforces the idea that progress and equality go hand in hand. It highlights the importance of providing equal opportunities to all children so they can grow, learn, and contribute to society.
As BETI enters its next chapter, it continues to inspire individuals to take part in this journey. The initiative calls on people to support and contribute in any way they can, ensuring that more children have the chance to dream and achieve their goals.
With two decades of impact behind it and a renewed, inclusive vision ahead, BETI stands as a reminder that real change begins with collective effort and shared responsibility.
