RRP Electronics Limited, a leading semiconductor company backed by cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, has formed a strategic alliance with US-based Deca Technologies. This partnership aims to significantly enhance RRP’s semiconductor capabilities through advanced wafer-level packaging solutions.

As part of the alliance, RRP will incorporate Deca’s innovative WLCSP and M-Series™ FOWLP technologies into its assembly and testing processes. Deca, a leader in semiconductor packaging, is supported by major investors such as Qualcomm, Infineon, and ASE Group.

The collaboration is expected to generate impressive growth, with an anticipated revenue of USD 30 million (approximately ₹260 crore) in the second year. The agreement also includes a potential Technology Transfer License Agreement (TTLA) for complete automated infrastructure, which will further improve RRP’s operational efficiency.

RRP Electronics is currently engaged in a major project with a Swiss customer, focused on producing complex ASICs in QFN packages. This project highlights RRP’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation in the semiconductor sector.

Rajendra K Chodankar, Chairman and CEO of RRP Electronics, shared his enthusiasm, stating, “We are ready to invest in a large-scale Technology Transfer License Agreement to take this alliance further. The existing infrastructure will contribute greatly to Deca’s ecosystem, and we plan to begin functional operations by August 2025.”

Tim Olson, Founder and CEO of Deca, commented, “We are thrilled to support India’s growing role in the global semiconductor industry. The RRP Electronics team’s focus and drive will help accelerate their ambitious goals, and we are proud to be part of this journey.”

In addition to this partnership, RRP Electronics is investing ₹24,000 crore in its Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) initiative. This will involve establishing a state-of-the-art semiconductor manufacturing facility in Maharashtra, supported by the Government of Maharashtra. The new facility, inaugurated in September 2024, is expected to create 4,000 jobs, boosting the local economy and positioning Maharashtra as a key player in the global semiconductor market.

The collaboration between RRP Electronics and Deca Technologies marks an exciting milestone in the continued growth of the semiconductor industry in India.
