H.E. U Minn Minn, Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Commerce, Myanmar, met with Shri Jitin Prasada, Union Minister of State for Commerce & Industry, Government of India, on Friday, 14 February 2025, at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi. Senior officials from both sides participated in the discussions.
The meeting focused on expanding bilateral trade, with both leaders exploring opportunities in pharmaceuticals, pulses, beans, and petroleum products. They also discussed the potential of the recently launched Rupee-Kyat Trade Settlement Mechanism to facilitate smoother transactions and enhance economic cooperation.
Additionally, the leaders acknowledged the significance of resuming border trade through road networks and agreed to take necessary steps to advance this initiative. The discussions aimed at strengthening economic ties and fostering mutually beneficial trade relations between India and Myanmar.
