The 7th edition of the MCX-IPF COMQUEST 2025, India’s premier national-level commodity market quiz, concluded in Mumbai with a grand finale on 4th March 2025. Organised by the MCX Investor Protection Fund (MCX-IPF), the competition saw over 10,000 student registrations from 650 institutions across 30 states and Union Territories. Female participation stood at 44%, reflecting growing interest in financial literacy.
The quiz tested students on their knowledge of the commodity markets through multiple screening rounds, case studies, and panel discussions over three months. Zonal rounds were held in Delhi-NCR, Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, and Mumbai. The final showdown took place at the Green Technology Auditorium, Mumbai University, Kalina Campus.

Launched in 2019, MCX-IPF COMQUEST is part of an initiative to enhance financial literacy and foster engagement between students and the commodity market ecosystem. Participants gained valuable insights into the roles of key stakeholders, including exchanges, clearing corporations, and market intermediaries.
MCX Managing Director and CEO Praveena Rai highlighted the event’s growing impact, stating that the quiz has become a crucial platform for students to deepen their knowledge, interact with industry leaders, and explore innovations in the commodity market.
The eight finalists represented top institutions, including the International Management Institute Bhubaneswar, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade Kolkata, VAMNICOM Pune, N. L. Dalmia Institute of Management Studies and Research Mumbai, BIMTECH Noida, SRM University AP Vijayawada, and IIM Trichy.
