Music lovers in Mumbai are set to experience an unforgettable evening as ‘Shaam-e-Akhtari’, a musical tribute dedicated to the legendary ‘Mallika-e-Ghazal’ Begum Akhtar, returns on 18 July. The event will be held at P. L. Deshpande Maharashtra Kala Academy (Ravindra Natya Mandir Mini Theatre), Prabhadevi, bringing together admirers of ghazals and Indian classical music for a celebration of one of India’s greatest musical icons.

The highlight of the evening will be a live performance by Padma Shri awardee Dr Soma Ghosh, one of India’s most respected vocalists. Known for her rich voice and expressive style, Dr Ghosh will present a selection of Begum Akhtar’s immortal ghazals, recreating the timeless charm and emotional depth that made the legendary singer a household name. Organisers say ‘Shaam-e-Akhtari’ is more than just a concert.
